Project Esperanza
A Beacon of Hope for the Hispanic Community of Hopkins County

Who We Are
Project Esperanza is an outreach initiative of Madisonville First United Methodist Church dedicated to supporting and empowering Hispanic families in Hopkins County.

What We Do
Through this project, we offer free english classes, immigration guidance, job assistance, and connections to essential services such as healthcare, housing, and food programs. We also host workshops, mentoring opportunities, and community-building spaces where persons can learn, grow, and be supported.

Why it matters
Every class, every resource, every conversation has one purpose: to be a light on the path for those seeking a new beginning. Project Esperanza is more than a program, it’s a Christian community, a family, a bridge, and a beacon of hope.

Daphne Brown
Director of Project Esperanza
I’m the Director of Project Esperanza at Madisonville First United Methodist Church, where I lead outreach to newcomer families in Hopkins County. I coordinate community connections and essential resources for Spanish-speaking households, drawing on over a decade of experience in refugee resettlement and community programs. My goal is to build responsive systems that help families feel at home and supported. Through partnerships with local schools, service organizations, and volunteers, I work to ensure every family has the resources they need to thrive.
